42% decrease of irregular border crossings reported from W. Balkans route to the EU

Sarajevo, 16 January 2026, dtt-net.com – The European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX) reported a decrease of 42 % of irregular entries of illegal migrants to the EU through Western Balkans route in 2025 compared to 2024. According to the new data, 12 525 irregular entries were detected during the last year through the Western Balkans route.
