Session of Montenegro Parliament interrupted after high tensions over law changes proposals on internal affairs and security agency

Podgorica, 27 February 2026, dtt-net.com – Tensions erupted today in the Parliament of Montenegro as the opposition protested a rush of parliamentary majority to adopt changes proposed to the law on internal affairs and law on national security agency in an urgent procedure, with the first accusing the latter of attempts to put under political control country’s police and security structures. Three opposition parties complained of not being informed on time about inclusion of two draft laws in session’s agenda, including amendments to the two draft-laws - which arrived to lawmakers after the beginning of today’s session - for a proper debate.
