Serbia students hold another massive anti-President protest stepping up pressure for early elections

Belgrade, 01 March 2026, dtt-net.com – Thousands gathered today in Serbian town of nis for a massive protest against authoritarian President Aleksandar Vucic and his ruling Progressive Party (SNS), as pressure on Vucic and his associates to call early elections keeps mounting. Students held a 16-minute tribute to the 16 victims of train station canopy collapse of November 2024 in northern town of Novi Sad, which triggered widespread and almost daily protests against the government calling for accountability of officials over the tragic accident.
