Prishtina/Washington, 12 March 2026, dtt-net.com – 12 members of USA Congress called the government of Donald Trump not to reduce the number of American troops in Kosovo as part of NATO-led peacekeeping mission (KFOR) amid fears of renewed instability across the Western Balkans region if such a move would be made.
In a letter signed and sent to the USA Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, members of the House of Representives and the Senate expressed their “deep concern regarding reports that the Trump Administration may draw down U.S. forces from the NATO -led Kosovo Force (KFOR) mission in Kosovo.”
Of total 4,767 KFOR troops, the USA has 590, the second troops strength after Italy which has 907.
