Podgorica/Brussels, 24 April 2026, dtt-net.com – Montenegro main opposition party expressed scepticism that the government and its parliamentary majority will be able to close all remaining 19 negotiating chapters in EU accession talks this year.
The lawmaker of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Ivan Vuković told local media that one of the reasons that adoption of remaining set of laws needed for EU accession could be slowed down, is that Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic does want to see Montenegro be the next member of the EU and could use his allies inside governing coalition to crease obstacles in the reform process.
