Montenegro opposition party refuses to resume posts in Parliament amid row over contested quality of EU-set reforms

Podgorica, 26 May 2026, dtt-net.com – Montenegrin main opposition party said today that its four lawmakers will not return to the posts in parliamentary bodies, as tensions with the ruling majority over controversial quality of reforms required for EU accession process continue, despite recent effort by an EU diplomat for a compromise. The lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Nikola Rakocevic, told the parliament today that party’s four lawmakers are not planning to resume with top posts at three parliamentary committees the deputy speaker of parliament position.
