Skopje, 02 June 2026, dtt-net.com – The President of European Council today during a visit to capital Skopje reiterated bloc’s call to the North Macedonia’s conservative prime minister to change constitution and include Bulgarian community it, while the latter seeks from Bulgaria and the EU to meet his counter-conditions as a compromise to end the four-year impasse of accession process.
Antonio Costa said in a press conference with the Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski that the agreement with the previous socialdemocrat-led government in July 2022, imposed by Bulgaria and endorsed by other 26 EU has to be met, in order North Macedonia can start opening negotiating chapters in currently blocked accession talks.
