Western powers to meet next week trying to solve disputes for new Bosnia envoy (report)

Sarajevo, 26 June 2026, dtt-net.com – Western countries of the Peace Implementation council (PIC) on Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) will meet on June 30 in Sarajevo, to try break the ice and appoint a new envoy for the country, after resignation of German diplomat Christian Schmidt and failed meeting of earlier this month, Sarajevo media reported. At June 4 meeting western powers split in two, as Italy sided with the USA government in support of an Italian candidate for the job, while France and Germany are in favour of a French candidate.
