Kosovo parties launch talks for election of new President after early elections

Prishtina, 10 July 2026, dtt-net.com – Kosovo Albanian political parties today had first round of talks aimed at constituting new institutions after June 7 early parliamentary elections. The leader of the Vetevendosje (LVV) party and caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti met with the leader of Democratic Party (PDK) Bedri Hama and leader of Democratic League (LDK) Lumir Abdixhiku, but no breakthrough for election of new President is reported, over what a quorum of 80 lawmakers is needed in the 120-seat parliament, and which was the cause of early elections.
