Tirana, 17 June 2026, dtt-net.com - A member of Albanian parliament who quit the ruling Socialist Party (PS) of the Prime Minister Edi Rama said she and her family are threatened for quitting party’s ranks to become independent, a decision which she took amid multiple disagreements with party’s leadership and at the time of ongoing massive street protests against touristic resorts plans in coastal areas.
MP Marjana Koçeku said through Facebook she was threatened by a group which the main opposition Democratic Party (PD) accuses it of being involved in organized crime and linked to the ruling PS.
