Albanian opposition party in North Macedonia warns with “physical resistance” to prevent adoption of disputed draft-law

Skopje, 08 May 2026, dtt-net.com – Members of the main opposition party of Albanians in North Macedonia, warned they would physically try preventing adoption of a draft-law in a second reading in the parliament, accusing the main ruling party of Macedonians of aiming to reduce through it the number of Albanians employed in public sector.   The former Foreign Affairs Minister, Bujar Osmani, told local Kanal 5 TV that the draft-law on ‘Appropriate and Fair Representation’ is made with the aim to “legalize expulsion” of ethnic Albanians from public institutions and called for its withdrawal.
