Tirana, 18 August 2026, dtt-net.com – Albania’s authorities have licensed a local company to start extraction of lithium in a southern municipality, after the company’s estimates that its four-year exploration proved to contain a low-grade lithium quantity of 235.45 ppm (parts per million).
Country’s National Agency for Natural Resources (AKN) file of last month show that “ALBANIA GOLD shpk” company was granted license for “use” of 0,9 square kilometre in October 2025 in the area between villages Zhulat and Picar if Gjirokastra municipality.
