Another massive anti-PM protest in Albania marred by violence and chaos in Tirana streets

Tirana, 28 February 2026, dtt-net.com – Saturday’s anti-government protest of the opposition in Albanian capital turned violent again, with clashes between protesters and police, as the crisis in the country mounts further with opposition party insisting on resignation of the prime Minister Edi Rama and technical government to pave the way for early elections. Thousands of protesters called by the Democratic Party (PD) marched through the streets of Tirana with a group of them throwing fireworks and petrol bombs and clashing with the police which used tear gas and water canons to push them back and disperse.
