Vienna, 13 July 2026, dtt-net.com – Austrian company OMV today signed a loan of €450 million EIB loan with the European Investment Banka (EIB) for construction of green hydrogen plant in northeastern town of Bruck an der Leitha.
The plant, construction of which started in September, is planned to produce up to 23,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually and is expected to launch operations by the end of next year to replace fossil-based hydrogen used in refining processes at Schwechat refinery.
The new plant at Bruck an der Leitha is the second green hydrogen plant of the company, after the first one constructed in April last year at the Schwechat refinery and which produces up to 1,500 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.
