Skopje, 07 January 2026, dtt-net.com – The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Hristijan Miskocki, today said that Bulgaria is aiming to “redefine” Macedonian identity, as dispute between the two countries resurfaces over Macedonian language which Sofia does not recognize.
Mickoski told today reporters that the fact that in a recent press statement of Bulgarian foreign ministry affairs, Sofia authorities refused to explicitly mention Macedonian language but referred to it as “a language accessible” to North Macedonia’s citizens, should serve as a prove that Bulgaria demands toward Skopje are aimed at redefining Macedonian identity.
