Tirana, 23 July 2026, dtt-net.com – Four policemen and at least two protesters are injured today during clashes in Albanian capital of Tirana, while opponent lawmakers returned to the Parliament for a tense session over territorial re-organization proposal.
Clashes erupted after protesters started throwing eggs, tomatoes, bottles and hard objects toward the police cordon set up in the streets leading to the parliament.
Police used water cannon and tear gas toward protesters trying to push them back.
Two protesters bleeding from injuries are sent to hospital for treatments after clashes, while others complained of body burns from the water cannons thrown by the police.
At least five protesters are detained following the clashes.
