Sarajevo, 18 November 2025, dtt-net.com – Another two people died from severe burns from the tragic accident of November 4 in the retirement home in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) town of Tuzla, rising the death toll to seventeen, town’s hospital announced.
“In the past 24 hours, two users of retirement home who were hospitalized at the Clinic for Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation after the fire have died at UKCT.,” the University Clinical Centre Tuzla said.
On that day, eleven people, all residents of the Tuzla Retirement Home, lost their lives, after the fire broke at the seventh floor. 30 others were injured.
Tuzla’s prosecution office said last week that according to the preliminary analysis and investigation conducted the cause of the fire at the seventh floor of the nursing home was a short electricity circuit.
It also said that investigation is ongoing and will be extensive and detailed and is aimed at establishing criminal liability.
The director of the retirement home resigned a day after the tragic accident.
