Belgrade/Brussels, 18 March 2026, dtt-net.com – The European Commission (EC) today warned Serbia authorities with withholding financial assistance to the country in protest of recently controversial judiciary laws adopted by the parliamentary majority in the Parliament and decreed by the authoritarian President Aleksandar Vucic.
The European Commissioner in charge of EU enlargement, Marta Kos, today reiterated EC disapproval of several judiciary laws which the EC and opposition parties say undermine independence of country’s prosecutor’s office against organized crime.
