Belgrade/Brussels, 01 May 2026, dtt-net.com – The European Commissioner in charge of enlargement of the European Union, Marta Kos, yesterday confirmed that the European Commission (EC) has stopped disbursement of of loans and grants to Serbia from the new fund for Western Balkans amid deterioration of situaation in the rule of law in the country ruled by the authoritarian President Aleksandar Vucic.
Kos said during a visit to the University of Fribourg in Switzerland the because of the recent controversial laws which relate to the functioning of prosecutor’s office all payments of loans and grants from the Growth Plan to Serbian government are stopped.
