Brussels/Skopje, 20 April 2026, dtt-net.com – The European Commissioner in charge of enlargement of the European Union, Marta Kos, today said that she hopes that the incoming government in Bulgaria following Sunday elections, will help the neighbouring candidate country to open accession negotiations with the European bloc.
“I hope that new Bulgarian government will help us to bring north Macedonia to start negotiations,” she told members of the European Parliament today over enlargement process, recalling that North Macedonia will change its constitution and include Bulgarian community in it, which is a condition imposed since July 2022.
