Brussels/Tirana, 05 May 2026, dtt-net.com – Members of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET) today expressed their “serious” concerns about the high level of corruption in Albania, the candidate country for membership in the EU.
The EP “stresses that corruption remains a serious concern and that, despite progress in the legal and institutional framework, Albania must further consolidate its track record of investigations, prosecutions and final convictions, particularly in high-level corruption cases,” reads the text adopted by 58 votes in favour, 7 against and 7 abstentions.
