Strasbourg/Skopje, 17 June 2026, dtt-net.com – EU lawmakers Wednesday called North Macedonia institutions to solve the dispute over non-use of Albanian language in state exams, as Albanian students continue contesting a recent proposal of the government for limited use of Albanian language.
The European Parliament (EP) “urges the authorities of North Macedonia to swiftly resolve the matter of the use of the Albanian language for state exams to ensure the practical implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement in both law and spirit, and not to portray the student protests disingenuously as politically driven or as a destabilising factor,” reads a resolution adopted today at the plenary session of the EP.
