Kosovo capital to host Mediterranean Games in 2030

Prishtina, 08 September 2023, dtt-net.com – Mediterranean Games in 2030 will be hosted by Kosovo’s capital Prishtina, the General Assembly of the International Committee (ICMG) of the Mediterranean Games decided today.

“ Τhe Host City of the 21st Mediterranean Games 2030 will be Prishtina after a voting process in the ICMG General Assembly,” the body said following the vote.

Prishtina took 55 out of 66 votes.

“This is fantastic news because these Mediterranean Games will be a great sporting event for all of Kosovo,” Prishtina’s Mayor Perparim Rama said following the announcement.

Rama said that the sports events in 24 disciplines, grounds and sports halls in Gjakovë, Pejë, Ferizaj, Podujevë, and Mitrovica will be used, and also in coastal town of Albania, Durrés.

At the same time,  General Assembly today approved unanimously the Portuguese cities of Portimao and Lagoa to host the 4th Mediterranean Beach Games 2027.
