Prishtina, 31 August 2026, dtt-net.com – Leaders of two Kosovo opponent parties announced today agreement to propose a concensual candidate for country’s new President, thus paving the way to end the institutional crisis following June early elections and avoid new ones.
The leader of the winning party of June elections, Vetevendosje (LVV), and caretaker Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, and the leader of the opposition Democratic League (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, agreed to propose to the parliament the former diplomat and former judge, Bekim Sejdiu, for the post.
“We agreed for a name, and he is professor and doctor Bekim Sejdiu,” Abdixhiku announced in a joint press conference with Kurti and Sejdiu.
