Parliament of Serb entity in Bosnia rejects moratorium proposal on exploration and exploitation of lithium and other raw materials

Sarajevo, 10 July 2025, dtt-net.com – The Parliament of Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) last night voted against a proposal of environmental organizations for a moratorium on concessions for exploration and exploitation of lithium and other raw materials in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

The rejection of the proposal is made despite a petition signed by more than 6000 citizens from Bijelina, Zvornik, Lopare and Ugljevik municipalities of the Majevica Mountain in the Serb entity, as authorities are willing to go ahead with lithium mining in Lopare municipality.
