Russia-owned oil refinery in Serbia suspends operations amid USA sanctions

Belgrade, 03 December 2025, dtt-net.com – Russia-owned NIS oil refinery in Serbia said it started suspending production operations yesterday amid lack of crude oil supplies following USA sanctions implementation since October and refusal of Washington to further postponement. “Pančevo Oil Refinery has started suspending the operation of its production units today due to the lack of crude oil for processing purposes as a result of the sanctions imposed by the US Ministry of Finance on NIS,” the company owned 56,15 percent by Gazpromneft and Intelligence, both owned by Gazprom, said in a media statement.
