Belgrade, 11 November 2025, dtt-net.com – Two Russian companies which own majority of shares in NIS oil refinery in Serbia have written to the government of Donald Trump offering to give up control of the company and transfer it to a third company in exchange of removing it from sanctions list which entered into force last month, according to Serbian government members.
Serbia’s Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Djedovic-Handanovic, said through Instagram that Russians have asked OFAC [The Office of Foreign Assets Control] of USA Department of Treasury for temporary exemption from sanctions for additional time they need for talks with potential new majority holder(s) of NIS shares.
