Serbia asks Trump’s government again for 6-month postponement of sanctions on Russia – owned oil company

Belgrade, 24 July 2025, dtt-net.com – The government of Serbia has submitted another request to the USA authorities to postpone for 6 months implementation of sanctions on Russian-owned oil company in Serbia, NiS, imposed by Biden’s government in January, while Washington so far has postponed sanctions 4 times for 1-month period.

Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, today said that the government has sent a new request to the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the USA Department of the Treasury “to extend the current operating license of NIS, which expires on July 29, for an additional 180 days,” according to a media statement from her office.
