Serbia opposition MP accuses authoritarian President of direct involvement in forgery for Trump’s son-in-law hotel project

Belgrade, 21 January 2026, dtt-net.com – An opposition lawmaker in Serbia today accused President Aleksandar Vucic of personally having exercised pressure on employees of state and capital Belgrade agencies for protection of cultural heritage to forge documents for paving the way for hotel project by Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, a project which is now abandoned by the latter after charges filed by the prosecution against a minister and three others over the same. Lawmaker Marinika Tepic of the Party of Freedom of Justice (SSP) today during a parliamentary session waved statement of two employees telling prosecutor’s office that it was Vucic personally who made pressure and asking them to remove the former army headquarters from cultural heritage list in breach of the law, which they refused.
