Belgrade, 13 October 2024, dtt-net.com – The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, Saturday during the football match between Serbian and Switzerland waved a combination of Russia and Republika Srpska entity flags.
The moment was published by the President of the Serb entity, Milorad Dodik, at his X account.
Russia flag is of three colours: white, read and blue, while the Serb entity flag is upside down with the same three colours.
While Serbia’s anthem was being played at the stadium in Leskovac, Vucic, sitting next to Dodik, took from his pocked a combination of the two flags and waved it above his head with his two hands.
The Chairman of the Belgrade-based non-governmental Euro-Atlantic Council of Serbia, Dragan Šormaz, criticized Vucic gesture.
“What does Russia have to do with the match Serbia – Switzerland?! Resign, shame on Serbia @avucic. go to Kazan hero! Come to Pristina and unfurl the Russian flag!”, he wrote in his X account reposting Dodik’s video, and tagging western officials, including the USA Embassy in Belgrade and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
