Belgrade, 11 October 2026, dtt-net.com – The former president of Serbia and now candidate for prime minister post in October 25 early parliamentary elections, expressed confidence that he and his Progressive Party (SNS) will get half million votes more than their main opponents “Students List – Students Win”, which is the number of eligible people registered with the right to vote in government’s data register and found by Radio Free Europe (RFE) last month of not having proper street names or numbers of their residence.
“We will win by 500 000 votes. It will be a big shock for many Students List voters,” he said to TV Prva Friday interview.
Vucic went further claiming of that once election results will be announced pro-Students list non-governmental organizations would contest result to be announced by Republican Election Commission (Srb. RIC)
Crta is one of the many organizations which have supported protesting students against Vucic and which this year was one of three local opinion surveys it made, and which say that Students List – Students Win will win elections.
A fourth one, Faktor Plus says the opposite, that Vucic and SNS would have a led with ten points difference from students.
Last month, the RFE said that its own search in the register of voters compiled by the ministry of interior, unveiled that nearly 8 percent of Serbia registered voters were without addresses and home numbers, raising suspicions of eventual election fraud scheme in the making in advance.
RFE said it came to the conclusion that more than 500 000 registered voters, were found “without a street or house number” in the official data list announced by the Serbian Electoral Committee (RIK), of which register is responsible the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, run by Minister Snežana Paunović of the Serbia’s Socialist Party (SPS) led by the Interior Minister Ivica Dacic.
‘There is no street, zero’. This is stated in the address data of more than half a million Serbian citizens on the voter register,” the RFE wrote about results of its research. The RFE then mentioned few examples of its findings in several towns, including in capital Belgrade.
“In Belgrade, the largest city in the country, where most residents live in multi-story buildings, apartment numbers are missing from the address data in the voter register. Namely, more than 90 percent of Belgrade addresses are not registered with apartment numbers, and the voter register only provides data on the total number of voters per entrance,” it said.
“Therefore, it is not possible to check how many voters are registered at a single apartment address – although amendments to the law, adopted at the end of 2025, allow citizens to check the number of voters in each household in online records,” the media said.
RFE took an example also of weirdly large number of people registered in the same house number.
“For example, in Priboj in southwestern Serbia, at one such address, 247 people with the right to vote are registered on the voter register – the data is from the voter register from September 21st,” the media wrote.
Similar situations have been reported in the previous municipal and parliamentary elections in Serbia, which had prompted accusations by opposition of election fraud and law breaches by the Progressive Party (SNS) of Aleksandar Vucic and other ruling parties through the ministries they controlled.
