Two moderate earthquakes hit Albania

Tirana, 26 October 2024, dtt-net.com – Two earthquakes hit Albania Friday afternoon in two different locations, according to country’s Institute of Geosciences (IGEO).

IGEO reported the first earthquake of 2.6 Richter scale in eastern county of Dibër hitting at 15:39 CET.

The second one of 4 Richter magnitude was recorded at 19:32 CET at south-west city of Fier, according to IGEO.

There are no damages reported, according to country’s agency of civilian protection.

In November 2019, a 5.8 Richter scale earthquake had hit 30 km north of Durrës in the Adriatic sea waters killing 51 people and injuring more than 1000 in the town and surrounding area.
