Brussels/Prishtina, 16 September 2025, dtt-net.com – “The situation in Kosovo is stable, but it remains subject to risks of sudden escalation, due to a variety of unresolved issues;” the Commander of the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR), Major General Enrico Barduani, told today top military and political bodies of the western military alliance in Brussels.
Barduani also said that the path towards “lasting security in Kosovo is not a military one. It’s political,” amid ongoing stalemate of the EU-mediated negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia authorities aimed at what is called “normalization” of relations between the two sides focused on the request of Serbia and the EU on formation of an autonomous body for Serb-majority ten municipalities for additional powers in economy, finances, urbanism, police, education, healthcare and culture.
