EU to add Kosovo in its ‘safe countries of origin’ list amid new legislation proposal tightening asylum rules

Brussels, 08 December 2025, dtt-net.com – The European Union is about to add Kosovo, to the list of its “safe countries of origin”, after previously doing so with other five countries of the Western Balkans region, as part of bloc’s new tightened asylum rules and migration policy. Government of 27 member states today agreed to include Kosovo in the list, after what further talks are to take place with the European Parliament over agreeing to severe rules on asylum and migration into bloc’s territory.
