Brussels/Sarajevo, 26 April 2026, dtt-net.com – Authorities of Bosniak-Croat entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) should have consulted with the European Commission (EC) prior to adopting changes to the law for construction of gas interconnector with Croatia, which will bring American LNG to the entity, EC officials said.
The head of the EC office in Sarajevo, Luigi Soreca, had asked so through a letter sent to the entity’s and BiH governments on 13 April for consultations with the EC, which did not happened as two days after the House of Peoples of the entity adopted final version of the law, which includes an American company as sole investor to construct the interconnector to the border with Croatia, while excluding a local one amid years of disputes between Bosniak and Croat politicians in BiH.
