In historical low turnout, Kosovo election won again by ruling party but with less support

Prishtina, 07 June 2026, dtt-net.com – Only 36,88% of Kosovo eligible voters showed up Sunday for early parliamentary elections, which is the record low since 2001 after the 1998-199 war for independence from Serbia, with the ruling party of the caretaker Prime minister Albin Kurti the most supported party again, but with significant number of votes lost this time. Kurti’s Vetevendosje (LLV) party got 42,92% of votes, according to the preliminary results with 99,40% of votes counted by the Central Election Commission (CEC).
