Belgrade, 07 June 2026, dtt-net.com – Hungarian MOL announced that it received an official license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury (“OFAC”) to continue negotiations on the purchase of a majority shareholding of Naftna Industrija Srbije a.d. (“NIS”) until 16 June 2026.
NIS is owned 56,15% by Gazprom subsidiaries Gazpromneft and intelligence, and talks are still underway for purchase of shares by MO, as Washington has conditioned removal of sanctions imposed by Joe Biden’s government only in case of Russian owners exit from the company.
