British-Australian company still wants massive lithium project in Serbia go ahead


Belgrade, 10 November 2023, – The British-Australian Rio Tinto company today said it believes that the suspended massive lithium exploitation in western Serbia should be unblocked, vowing that the project can be safely processed despite concerns of environmentalists, and thus help country’s economy with the much-wanted critical raw material in the global automotive industry, as Serbia is believed to have on its soil between 10 to 12 percent of world lithium ore reserves.
