Tirana, 18 June 2026, dtt-net.com – 23 Albania protesting citizens are charged by the police today for road blockades of yesterday in the capital Tirana, as massive daily protests against the Prime minister Edi Rama over touristic resorts plans in coastal areas continued for 19th consecutive day.
Police said 23 citizens are charged because “some of the participants in the rally organized and directed the participants, preventing the free movement of vehicles on some streets of Tirana, unlike the previously announced itinerary.”
Thousands gathered today as well in the capital calling for resignation of Rama and his government, and halt of construction plans of Qatari investors and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, which Rama insists will go ahead despite increasing tensions in the country.
