Podgorica, 30 July 2026, dtt-net.com – The Foreign Ministry of Montenegro today summoned Russian Ambassador Aleksandar Lukashik to protest his recent comments questioning decision-making legitimacy of Montenegrin government relating to the recent decision of imposing visa regime to Russians as of November as part of alignment with EU visa policy, where the country is expected to become full-fledged member soon.
The ministry, led by the Bosniak minister Ervin Ibrahimoviv, said Lukashik was summoned today for an interview due to allegations from an author's text published on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Montenegro and the Russian Federation, as well as the reaction of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the decision of the government of Montenegro to fully harmonize its visa policy with that of the EU.
