Prishtina, 06 August 2026, dtt-net.com - The Special Prosecution Office of Kosovo today said it filed indictments against 20 Serbs, former members of Serbia police and army, for war crimes against the civilian population in Gjakova municipality during the 1998-1999 war of independence from Serbia.
The prosecution said the 20 are charged with the criminal offense of "War crimes against the civilian population", for the killing of 107 Albanians during a large-scale military-police operation in May 1999 in the municipality.
The leader of the Serbia-backed gunmen group, Milan Radoicic, which attacked Kosovo police in September 2023 in northern village of Banjska, is in the list of indictees who have found refuge in Serbia.
