EU to tackle again negotiating chapter for Montenegro, refused by Croatia to be closed last month

Brussels, 27 August 2026, dtt-net.com – Representatives of 27 member states will next week discuss again about prospects of closing negotiating chapter 14 (Transport Policy), in accession negotiations for Montenegro, which Croatia’s government last month rejected. The “working party”, made of representatives of 27 EU member states will meet on Monday (September 1st) to exchange views on what is called “Draft EU Common Position” for chapter 14 (Transport policy) and three other chapters: Chapter 12 (Food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy) and Chapter 18 (Statistics), according to documents of the EU Council Secretaria.
