NATO and the EU tight-lipped over timetable for opening Kosovo bridge amid Serbia and Kosovan Serb party dissaproval

Brussels, 27 August 2026, dtt-net.com – NATO peacekeeping force (KFOR) and the European Union refuse to clarify when will the main bridge on the Iber River, which divides northern town in Serb-predominantly north and Albanian-predominantly north, will be opened for vehicle circulation, suggesting that any such move is dependent on whether both sides, Kosovo authorities and Serbia-controlled Serb List party agree, which is not the case amid refusal by the latter and Belgrade authorities. When KFOR is asked when will the bridge will be opened for vehicle circulation, and when the EU is asked the same question and whether it considers that conditions are met, both organizations have same answer, refusing to mention any timetable for the time being.
