Tirana, 19 October 2026, dtt-net.com - Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama levelled explosive accusations on Monday, claiming that "Antifa," Russia, and Iran are weaponizing the country's youth to orchestrate an uprising against his government.
The allegations come as student-led demonstrators marked their sixth consecutive day of violent clashes with police.
The unrest follows more than 130 days of peaceful demonstrations demanding Rama’s resignation.
The daily protests triggered after Rama insisted on pushing forward with the construction of luxury resorts in southern Albania, backed by Qatari investors, Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and his daughter Ivanka Trump.
In a fiery, 50-minute address to law enforcement officers, Rama claimed the young demonstrators are operating under foreign influence.
