Construction works of pipeline by Serbia and Hungary for Russian oil delayed until next year

Belgrade, 21 July 2025, dtt-net.com – Serbia was initially planning to start construction of pipeline to Hungary to get Russian oil by year’s end, but officials said today that works will start at the beginning of 2026, as did Hungarian officials over their part of the pipeline.

Serbia’s Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, said today after a phone discussion with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, and Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Sorokin that Serbia will be ready to begin construction of 104 km of pipeline section in Serbian territory “early next year”.
