Delay of EU – Serbia roadmap on contested lithium project amid ongoing crisis marred by anti-President widespread protests (sources)

Brussels, 03 March 2025, dtt-net.com – The European Commission (EC) and Serbia’s government were planning to develop an implementation roadmap by February, following the signature of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in July 2024 on raw materials, including lithium, battery value chains and electric vehicles, but despite drafts exchanged by the two sides, there still no final version of the roadmap on the table, dtt-net.com learns, which according to sources familiar with the matter the cause of delay relates to the the ongoing crisis in the country marred by daily widespread protests of students and citizens against the President Aleksandar Vucic and the main ruling Progressive Party (SNS) which he controls.
