EU Commission President skips Serbia and Bosnia trip ahead of elections

Brussels, 18 September 2026, dtt-net.com – The President of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen has decided not to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Serbia during her annual Western Balkans tour, because of elections in the two candidate countries, according to her office. Spokesperson Arianna Podestà today announced von der Lyen will visit four other countries of the region: Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, and North Macedonia, between 30th September and 2nd October.
