Hungary’s incoming PM vows to extradite former North Macedonia’s PM sentenced on corruption charges

Skopje, 13 April 2026, dtt-net.com – The incoming Prime Minister of Hungary, Peter Magyar, said today that his government will extradite fugitive foreign politicians, including the former Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Nikola Gruevski, who is sentenced to prison terms in his country on corruption charges but granted asylum by Viktor Orban’s government. Magyar said so when asked by reporters about the former Polish justice minister Zbigniew Ziobro and his deputy Marcin Romanowski who both fled to Hungary following charges of abuse of power for criminal activities. “They should not buy any furniture in IKEA because they are not staying long. Hungary will not be an asylum for international criminals, but that does not apply only to them but also to Mr. Nikola Gruevski, the former North Macedonia Prime Minister who is also a felon…,” Magyar said.
