Prishtina, 30 June 2025, dtt-net.com – More than 50 non-government organizations accused today in a public letter the caretaker Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and his party of blocking election of new Parliament Speaker through attempts to impose “one sided” solution by not respecting parliamentary procedures and constitutional rules, and called for a compromise with opponents to end the deadlock saga within 30 days as the Constitutional Court called last week.
“The Assembly is no one’s property. It cannot be held hostage by the will of a single political entity. Democracy requires functioning, respect for procedures, and the will to compromise. We call on all political parties, especially the winning party, to fulfil their constitutional obligations and enable unblocking of the process,” they wrote as Kurti’s Vetevendosje (LVV) is failing to get sufficient support for its nominee for the post in the 120-seat Parliament.
