Prishtina, 07 February 2023, dtt-net.com – The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, today decided to declare February 8 a day of mourning, following earthquakes of Monday in Turkey which killed more than 5000 people and left more than 31000 injured.
“The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, has announced Wednesday, February 8, 2023 as the State Day of Mourning in the Republic of Kosovo, after the earthquakes of February 6, 2023 with the epicenter in Turkey, which left thousands dead and injured,” Osmani’s office announced in a statement.
Kosovo and all other countries in the Western Balkans region (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia ) are dispatching rescue teams to Turkey to help local authorities in rescue efforts.
